What does AI do in a QR menu?
An AI QR menu is a digital menu that uses artificial intelligence to save you the most tedious work. In BuenaCarta, AI takes care of two things:
- Translating your dishes: names, descriptions, sections and menus, into the languages you enable, every time you create or change something.
- Adding photos to your dishes: our image library includes AI-created dish photos reviewed by our team, so your menu looks great even before you have photos of your own.
What AI does not do is decide your menu: dishes, prices and allergens are set by you (or by us on your behalf), because that is the information your customers need to be accurate.
Automatic AI translation of dishes
Translating a restaurant menu is not about translating isolated words. A generic translator turns the Spanish «carta» into letter or «entrantes» into incoming. BuenaCarta's AI translation is designed specifically for hospitality menus: it understands the culinary context, keeps the names of typical dishes that have no equivalent (paella, tapas, sushi…) and preserves your punctuation and capitalisation.
How it works
- Enable the languages you want to offer in the Languages section of your dashboard.
- Write or change a dish in your language, as usual. When you save, AI instantly translates it into every enabled language.
- Review it if you like: every automatic translation is labelled AUTO. If you edit one by hand, the AI respects it and never touches it again.
- Your customers read it in their language: the QR menu opens directly in the language of the customer's phone, and they can switch whenever they like.
If you later change the original description of a dish, the automatic translations are redone on their own, so there is never an outdated translation. Allergens are shown with their icons and their names in each customer's language.
